Feline Leukemia

Feline Leukemia is a retrovirus transmitted from cat to cat. Early symptoms could be a change in behavior or loss of appetite. The disease also makes them more likely to become anemic or susceptible to bacterial infections because of lowered immunity. There is no cure for this disease.

An indoor cat won’t be exposed to infections from other cats as long as they are kept indoors. Cats can live several years without any need for medical care but will eventually be weakened with the anemia or infections. The chances of getting cancer are higher if the cat has feline leukemia.
